Small (finally became very very long, sorry 🙈) back to my race: Everything started very well: the sun was forecast, it won't be too hot and there won't be too much wind. Wake up at 5 a.m. with a meal of oatmeal and bananas as usual before big outings. We arrive at the park well in advance with my two friends. It's still cold (~10°C) and I'm happy to have packed warm clothes for the morning and the bike. We all finished on time but in the end we took a little too long for a last pee and we missed the departure of the first SAS (less than 1h15). I manage not to get angry and I keep all the positive energy for this day💪 I leave towards the water at the head of the second SAS, the day dawns: it's magical🌅 the big day has finally arrived : I'm really hot in terms of motivation🔥🤩 I'm leaving with the first group of the rolling start and they're good (we're just people who missed the first SAS and we swim much faster than 2min/100m) The water is at Almost 19°C, it's cold but I'm fine with the sleeveless jumpsuit (thanks again Cédric for lending it to me 😘). I catch up with a lot of people. I love swimming! The salt water without waves in the canal and on the return of the two loops the Mont Saint-Michel as a benchmark with the sun rising: I live an incredible experience🤩 (small point to improve: I did not capture it in the description of the Bayman (42 pages) that it is necessary to make an Australian exit between the two rounds (like many other participants) but the speaker speaks/screams quite loudly and I understand it without wasting too much time.) Second round also on top even if there are small, very very cold currents from time to time. I get out of the water and it shows 1h07min48s (1.47min/100m): it starts very well 💪 There is encouragement from my girlfriend (Julie) and friends at the transition. I love it and I thoroughly enjoy my race 🤩 transition a little slow because I can't use my fingers well, they are frozen. Very happy to have put bib shorts and a jacket in the transition bag so as not to be too cold. I start cycling well and after about 10 minutes I start to no longer feel cold. I still enjoy it from the start 😊 the route is very well signposted. I ride on sensations and it’s great! I use the small chainrings on the climbs (thanks again for the advice David and others 😉) and I finish the first lap with an average of 31km/h. I try not to look at the watch too much but it's nice all the same. Top course: beautiful, good floor covering and the small climbs (and descents) are fun! During the two tours I meet Florian and my two friends. It motivates like all encouragement on the road (I sometimes applaud them in return and it makes them laugh and as a result they applaud even louder and I'm so happy 😁🤗). I'm starting to do the same with the other participants I meet, they are often surprised and very happy 😊). The 1000 L participants have joined us in the meantime and during the second bike lap I catch up with a lot of people. I continue to live a huge experience: I have lots of emotions, it's incredible 🤩 I slow down a little on the second lap (very good advice Marc 😉) to preserve juice for the marathon that is coming and I put down the bike with an average of 30.2km/h on my speedometer after 172km (maybe shorter because the distance for the transitions were a bit long?). I attack the race with sensations that are very, very good at the beginning but I feel over time that I am still doing an ironman 😅 I try not to look at the watch, I just look at the clock. heart rate does not rise too much and this is never the case. The 4 cape loops are ok/good on the land side (fewer supporters with long straights) and incredible on the Mont Saint-Michel side (it's so beautiful, there are lots of supporters (thanks for example Lorine 😉 ) and the climb to Mont Saint-Michel during the first lap is great even if it's hard! I'm very happy to have my two small flexible water bottles in my marathon belt that I fill at every refreshment point (almost every 2kms) and I pour lots of water on myself each time (I have to buy a running cap). Nutrition-wise I ate a lot of bars during the bike ride (more and more salty ones with the time) and at the end of the bike I switch to gels (with the addition of salt/electrolyte capsules), which I continue to take with iso drinks during the Cape until km 25/30 from which I stay with pure water as my stomach begins to saturate. I am happy that the pure water is still coming through and I no longer force myself to eat. I made a friend during the race and we talked for at least 10km over several passages (hares other than participants were not allowed). It makes the time pass faster because it gets harder and harder: I feel like it's only been 6.5 weeks since I got back on track after my broken foot. So I run on the feeling and I'm super happy for every kilometer I run. I know from the start of the race that I will finish in less than 12 hours even if I take my time, so I enjoy this great experience, which is nonetheless hard but above all incredibly beautiful, without any time stress (I shed several tears of joy). during the race and the smile is printed on my face 🤩). I arrive after 11:41:45. That's it: I'm an IRONMAN🤩🔥💪🥳🍾🚀

An exceptional setting, a must-do! Top volunteers, a nice M course, a fantastic climb up the mountain with encouragement from everywhere! Too bad there isn't really an airlock for swimming. But that’s a detail! The arrival with the view of the Mount is great. Well done

I thank all the volunteers present during these 2 days of events, for their encouragement and their availability, without them nothing would be possible and frankly for having run a few triathlons😉 I can tell you that your organization has nothing to envy of certain events under the label , thank you again and see you next year.
